I have a lot of catching up to do so this is going to be an abbreviated version of my originally planned Brian Head post.
We finished up Day 1 with a quick shuttle down Dark Hollow - so fun... and then a little bbq and pool action at the hotel.
Day 2 started with another Dark Hollow shuttle. More fun times. We ran into this older dude on a 5 inch bike that I chased down with my DH bike... he was KILLING that trail. I had to work my hardest to keep up. From there we headed up to the bike park for some lift service. The boys were all on trail bikes so we started out on Color Country. I got tired of pedalling half way down so split off to one of the DH trails. We lost a man after that run, but 3 of us continued on for a bunch more runs. I was thorougly impressed with Russell and Monte for sticking it out on the DH trails on their trail bikes. I'm sure there were lots more stories from that day but like I said, need to get caught up quick so on to day 3!
We had to leave on Monday sadly, but wanted to get one more good ride in. We stopped at one of the bikeshops in town and they told us we had to try the Bunker Creek shuttle. It did NOT dissapoint! This trail has now jumped up to among my top 5 trails of all time. There is no way I can describe this trail adequately in a sentence, but here are a bunch of words the trail makes me want to use. Scenic, flowy, smooth, gnarly, fast, downhill, gorgeous, roller coaster, wildlife, cliffs, aspen, forests, fields... delightful!!
I was sad to leave...
Be back soon to report on Canada and New York state.
