Well, we've been back for a week now...and real life has set in again, so time for a recap of the trip.
Some afterthoughts:
Roadtrips are awesome.
Fruita is my favorite.
The slickrock in Moab is the best slickrock.
Puebloans are cool. So are Arches.
I am a driving superstar.
Mountain biking is good for the soul.
Make friends with the locals.
4 corners would be less stupid if it were open every day of the year.
Everyone should do what they can to support National Parks, and also, trail builders.
Russell and I make a super fantabulous awesome mountain biking, road tripping, sight seeing duo.
You can still mountain bike when it's pretty damn cold, and it's still fun, but it would be nice to go to Moab when there wasn't snow.
There is so much more to see!!!
Special thanks to:
Green River Gas n Go - for saving our ass and giving us hope as we drove through the mountains on empty.
The 2 dudes in Fruita - for showing us how it's done on the Kokapelli Network.
The other dude in Fruita - for encouraging us to ride Zippety Doo Da and generally being an awesome old dude. The Sedona Bike n Bean - for giving us directions to the "off the map" zones, not to mention great Mochas.
The people in Poison Spider bicycles, Sedona Bike n Bean and Over the Edge in Hurricane - for being way better than the guy at Over the Edge in Fruita.
Cookies and beer - for being integral parts of both mountain biking and roadtrips
Nature - for providing us with such a sweet playground
